About me

 

I was born and raised in Lucerne. After completing my compulsory schooling, I undertook a commercial apprenticeship at an accounting firm.

 

Following this, I spent two years in Vancouver, Canada, where I worked in the mortgage department of a bank. This period not only allowed me to gain valuable international experience but also to perfect my English language skills.

 

After returning to Switzerland, I got married. My husband and I became parents to a son and a daughter. Today, we are fortunate to be grandparents to two granddaughters and two grandsons.

 

Once our children had finished primary school, I was trained as a tour guide. Since 1991, it has been a great pleasure for me to introduce international guests to our beautiful city of Lucerne and its charming surroundings. I work as a freelance tour guide and city guide because I value interacting with people and enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for Lucerne and my home country. In doing so, I provide not only historical background and facts, but also offer my guests fascinating insights into everyday life, traditions and culture in Switzerland.

 

Hobbies and Interests

 

Until the age of 40, I was a passionate field hockey player. As a member of the Lucerne Sports Club, I won several Swiss championship titles and travelled throughout Europe with the Swiss national team to participate in international competitions.

 

I really enjoy attending opera performances and classical concerts, in Lucerne, Zurich, and also on my travels.

 

Travelling has always been one of my greatest passions. Together with my family, and later with my husband, I have explored every continent except South America. These journeys have enriched my understanding of different cultures and strengthened my appreciation for meeting people from all walks of life.
